The Complex Approach
During the dolphin therapy course at the Odessa Nemo culture-health center, the child is involved in an integrated system of rehabilitation, correction and training that includes therapy sessions with dolphins, family therapy, psychotherapy, physiotherapy, corrective learning, etc. Experienced doctors and psychologists observe the progress of change and keep track of the results for passing the course. At the end of the course, doctors give the parents recommendations about what to work on next with the child.
As a result of dolphin therapy sessions, the child increases his receptiveness to different therapeutic and rehabilitative programs and heightens his ability to assimilate new knowledge and skills. Our task during this period is to use as many different methods of treatment and training as possible. In conjunction with dolphin sessions for the child, other associated sessions with masseuses, special education instructors, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and psychologists can be ordered to take place at the rehabilitation center base.
An important aspect of our program is family dolphin therapy. This joint experience of the happy moments conversing with dolphins furthers mutual understanding and contact within the family, enabling better intra-familial communications. Furthermore, the combined swimming and communicative experiences with dolphins benefit the internal dynamics of the family and help address the complicated, conflicting and tense situations for parents and children.
